Target Modeling, Analysis and Communications System - TMACS

TMACS is a Vessel Traffic System (VTS) that combines a variety of HSA developed core technologies to produce a commercial off the shelf VTS providing a broad range of user solutions.

The system accepts target information from a variety of sensor types including Universal Automatic Identification System (AIS), Inmarsat C and ARPA Radar.

Target information is presented to the user through a Windows User Interface that utilises an electronic chart backdrop using HCRF (Raster) or S-57 ENC (Vector) electronic charts. System functionality is accessed through menus and dialogs to allow the user to effectively display, analyse and manage target information for a variety of purposes.

TMACS is a client server based system. Multiple TMACS clients can be installed. Clients are connected to a Local TMACS server allowing multiple users to access the system at single or separate locations. View only TMACS Clients can be deployed where the management of target information is not authorised.

AIS Transponders

A variety of AIS hardware options are available from suppliers such as Atlas, SAAB Systems, Kelvin Hughs, Furuno and others. HSA has relationships and contacts with many of the major suppliers and will facilitate the provision and deployment of AIS hardware to a customers specification.

VTSO Training

Training of VTS Operators (VTSO) is an important consideration in deploying and operating a VTS. The IMO provides guidelines and accreditation for VTSO training courses.
