News and media releases from HSA Accelerated “Electronic Navigation Chart” Project Contract signed with the Australian Hydrographic Service On 21 Dec 2006, the Hydrographer of Australia, CAPT Rod Nairn signed a contract with HSA Systems Pty Ltd for the production of 82 new paper charts, 322 one degree Electronic Navigation Charts (ENC) cells and 38 conversions/remediations of existing charts, to assist in achieving full Electronic Navigation Chart coverage of Australia by 2010. The program will also have the additional benefit of replacing all of Australia’s fathoms charts with up-to-date metric charts. The contract commenced in January 2007 with an agreed completion date of June 2010. HSA Systems Pty Ltd subcontracted IIC Technologies, an international technology company, to assist them in this contract. The work will be carried out to International Hydrographic Organization charting standards with final validation and quality checking to be undertaken by the AHO.

Whilst ENC Analyzer is continually being upgraded to align it with the latest standards, it is also being enhanced to cover all phases of production to ensure Recent enhancements to the application have focused on the distribution and management of data and include:
Consistency of S-57 products is essential. Even though ENC Analyzer uses over 800 ENC checks they do not cover the specific encoding requirements of some producers. It is now possible for organisations to create custom checks and test data using these checks. These checks do not supersede the IHO checks and are reported separately. For manufacturers of products other than ENCs ENC Analyzer also checks AML edition 1.0, Inland ECDIS edition 1.0.2 and 2.0. These products are automatically identified when loaded and the appropriate checks applied to the cell(s). Version 2.4 is currently being distributed to clients on support agreements. ENC Analyzer is an integral element of the SevenCs ENC Tools suite but it can also operate independently. ENC Analyzer has been developed cooperatively between SevenCs and HSA Systems.
