Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd has two specialised bulk cement carrying vessels, which are required to navigate around the New Zealand coast and in particular the bar harbour entrances of Westport and Onehunga. The bar entrance at Westport in particular is ever changing due to the littoral drift of sand along the South Island West Coast and so requires regular dredging. This means a constantly changing bar requiring regular surveying. To meet this challenge HSA Systems has developed a load survey operation within Endeavour® Navigator software that allows up to date survey data to be overlayed over existing raster or vector charts.
