10 March, 2007 the all new AIDAdiva was about to start her transit from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany to the North Sea. AIDAdive watched by thousands of people sailed along the narrow and twisted Ems River, stern first and assisted by two tugs she passed all intricate passages without any problems. A special ENC was required of Emden port with scale similar to the ENCs of the Ems River to provide accurate navigation of the vessel. ENC Tools were used to create ENCs and paper charts to assist this voyage.
